WordPress is written in PHP language, backed by MySQL database and is made available on a GNU license. There are many different versions that exist due to much improvements being done on earlier versions and its not uncommon to hear several releases in a year. The latest version not unlike the other versions, can be down loaded free of charge online and installed by following simple instructions. There is online support available for giving instructions to people who need them. WordPress can be hosted on a local server, giving the owner confidence that the information is safe, and some comfort as to the control of the information. The source code for WordPress has for a long time being an open secret, which is a measure calculated to enable developers to make improvements to the software. Even ordinary folks who are not computer geeks are invited to submit the proposals and suggestions on WordPress and WordPress developers sometimes pick on those suggestions send implement them for future versions. Even the unhappy chaps can register the cause and their unhappiness in respect to WordPress, of course.
As with many genuinely open source software, it is possible to have a custom made WordPress build along a particular weblogs needs. One needs to make use of the free WordPress templates from the internet which would then later be developed in accordance to the particular needs and requirements. PhpBB template is more suited for newbie bloggers and those who wish to improve on the already existing weblogs. PhpBB has gone though several improvements itself and one may be a bit confused as to the particular features. The latest version is celebrated for being compatible with many different databases. PhpBB can also be improved to fit certain purposes, the point of departure would be to go online and downloading free phpBB templates online. These templates can then be edited to and customized for a particular purpose. The two blog template under examination offer good platform for bloggers and many experts bloggers rate them equally.
